Mouse problems

June 29th, 2010

I’ve been working on a job recently that’s been becoming more and more fiddly. It’s been annoying me for a while and at first I couldn’t put my finger on it.
It finally dawned on me after much painstaking retouching that my problem wasn’t the job itself, it was my mouse.

For years I’ve been a big advocate of using whichever apple mouse has come along and even having to disassemble the ‘mighty mouse’ in order to clean the little rubber scroll button. I’ve tried tablets, wireless mice but to no avail I’ve always ended up back with the mighty mouse. I have stuck with this design mainly out of routine and it does an adequate job but it’s days are numbered. More recently the new wireless magic mouse hasn’t boosted my confidence in parting with 60 quid for something which actually has a different shape and feel, and has left me unconvinced.

If anyone can suggest a great alternative to the Apple mouse range I am all ears! Suggestions please!

Truly Terrifying…

I’m sorry we don’t need you…

If you provide a freelance service, it is inevitable at some point someone is going to cancel a booking right at the death or even worse right in the middle of a booking. Your natural reaction may be despair and disbelief followed by frustration and a need to take them outside for a flogging (did I say that out loud!?) but remember the agency (your client) is also treading a fine line with their client who may also have just done the same thing. A little understanding and a clear, agreed set of T&Cs with a reasonable cancelation charge before you start work can go a long way to building a solid working relationship.
